Kate Gray will moderate a panel on the case for artist housing, examining why affordable homes matter alongside workspaces and the partnerships and funding models that could make them possible. The discussion will include speakers from Bow Arts (London) and Meg Schiffler (Artist Space Trust, California).
The second Creative Land Trust Summit will convene in Helsinki this year for three and a half days of discovery, peer learning, knowledge exchange and planning. Building on the inaugural 2025 gathering in San Francisco, the 2026 programme moves from mapping different creative land trust models to examining how practitioners can strengthen, finance, govern and scale them while protecting their cultural mission.
The event takes place at Kaapeli in Helsinki, one of Europe’s most significant examples of a creative land trust in practice. A former Nokia cable factory now home to hundreds of artists and creative organisations, all accessing affordable space through a model that is publicly anchored but operationally independent.
