Morag is a visual artist residing in Nairn in the Scottish Highlands. She graduated from Moray School of Art UHI in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
Morag’s creates abstract sculptural installation which reflects her exploration of place. This sense of place stems from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland which she explored extensively as a child on family sailing holidays. She is influenced not only by the actual landscape but by layers of meaning discovered from her research into the influences of Memory, Experience and Time.
She is a process led artist, and works through her ideas in a highly experimental route where each creative act becomes a response to what has gone before. The chance of the accidental and use of intuition guides her from one point to another. She works in a range of materials from the industrial to the organic and her work shows clear links to minimalism.
