Margaret S Milligan is a Scottish artist living and working in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway.
It is her need to simply paint, that is the lifeblood behind her work, a compulsion that has become as natural as breathing. Now fully immersed in something she loves, the challenge of portraying the living, continuously moving, landscape of the human body is at delightful odds with the control and precision of her still life pieces. Building upon an obsession stemming from childhood of rendering faces, Margaret's fascination with portraiture continues, in the form of commissioned pieces, as well as self portraits. Teaching is very important too, she holds painting and drawing classes, alongside Summer workshops, throughout the year.
Margaret is an active participant within her local arts community, founding and running two successful life drawing groups in Kirkcudbright.
